بیانیه مشترک مطبوعاتی فدراسیون بین المللی جامعه های حقوق بشر -جامعه دفاع از حقوق بشر در ایران

4 فروردین 1390- (ژنو) فدراسیون بین المللی جامعه های حقوق بشر و جامعه دفاع از حقوق بشر در ایران از تصویب قطعنامه شورای حقوق بشر سازمان ملل برای انتصاب گزارشگر ویژه حقوق بشر برای ایران استقبال می کنند. از زمانی که شورای حقوق بشر تشکیل شده، این اولین بار است که به طور مشخص تصمیم به نظارت بر وضعیت حقوق بشر در یک کشور می گیرد.

عبدالکریم لاهیجی، نایب رییس فدراسیون بین المللی جامعه های حقوق بشر و رییس جامعه دفاع از حقوق بشر در ایران گفت: «این یک لحظه تاریخی است که پیام بسیار قاطع حمایت از مردم ایران اعلام شده است. شورای حقوق بشر نشان داد که به قربانیانِ رژیم ایران توجه دارد و وضعیت نقض حقوق بشر در ایران از بدترین وضعیت ها در جهان است.»

با این قطعنامه که با اکثریت مطلق 22 رای1 تصویب شد، شورای حقوق بشر تایید کرد که وضعیت در ایران پس از انتخابات اخیر به شدت رو به وخامت رفته است. فدراسیون بین المللی جامعه های حقوق بشر و جامعه دفاع از حقوق بشر در ایران به ویژه از تصمیم برزیل، گواتمالا، سنگال و کره جنوبی برای تغییر موضع قبلی خود در مجمع عمومی سازمان ملل و حمایت از برقراری سیستم نظارت بر حقوق بشر در ایران استقبال می کنند.

UN Human Rights Council takes action on Iran

24 March 2011 – (Geneva) The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the Iranian League for Defense of Human Rights (LDDHI) welcome the adoption today of the resolution appointing a special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran. This is the first time since the creation of the Council that a new country-specific mandate has been created.

« This is an historic moment, and a very strong message of support sent to the Iranian people », declared Karim Lahidji, Vice-President of FIDH and President of the Iranian League for Human Rights. « The Council has demonstrated that it cares for the victims of the Iranian regime, which proves to be one of the worst chronic situations of human rights violations in the world ».

By this resolution, adopted by a large majority of 22 states1, the Council has aknowledged that the situation in Iran has seriously deteriorated since the last elections. Our organizations welcome particularly the decision of Brazil, Guatemala, Senegal and South-Korea to support the establishment of a mandate on Iran, in contrast with their previous positions at the UN General Assembly.
