جهت توجه به وضعیت عباسی جوان و حسینی دو مدافع هویت آذربایجانی در زندان اوین

ارگانهای امنیتی و قضایی جمهوری اسلامی ایران فعالین مدنی آذربایجان را که از طرق مسالمت آمیز خواهان رفع تبعیض می شوند و یا به برگزاری مناسبتهای ملی خود می پردازند بازداشت می کند. آنها در زندان شکنجه شده و با متهم شدن به فعالیت علیه امنیت ملی از حق داشتن وکیل نیز محروم می گردند. انجمن دفاع از زندانیان سیاسی آذربایجانی در ایران٬ آداپ٬ می خواهد توجه نهادهای حامی حقوق بشر و دولتها را به وضعیت مهندس عبدالله عباسی جوان و خواهرزاده او حسین حسینی در زندان اوین جلب کند که ۴۵ روز است بدون داشتن حقوق اولیه یک زندانی، از جمله حق بر خورداری از وکیل و ملاقات با خانواده در بند ۲۰۹ زندان اوین تهران تحت بازجویی مأموران وزارت اطلاعات ایران قرار دارند.

مهندس عبدالله عباسی جوان استاد معماری دانشگاه شهیدرجایی تهران و حسین حسینی دبیر سابق انجمن اسلامی دانشکده رازی اردبیل دو فعال مدافع هویت آذربایجانی در ایران هستند که از روز پنجشنبه ۲۳ آبان ۸۷ درهنگام شرکت در مراسم سالگرد ستارخان (سردار ملی و مبارز دوره مشروطیت) در شهر ری دستگیر و به همراه هشت آذربایجانی دیگر به بند ۲۰۹ زندان اوین که در اختیار وزارت اطلاعات ایران است فرستاده شدند.این دو فعال بازداشت شده در خطر شکنجه و يا ساير انواع بد رفتاري قرار دارند.

 پیگیریهای مداوم خانواده آنها جهت اطلاع از وضعیتشان تا کنون هیچ نتیجه ای نداشته است. مأموران امنیتی بستگان این فعالین را تهدید کرده و آنها را از پیگیری پرونده از طریق مراجعه به دادگاه برحذر داشته اند.در طول این چهل و پنج روز تنها ارتباط این زندانیان با خانواده شان مکالمه تلفنی کمتر از یک دقیقه عبدالله عباسی جوان با برادرش در روز دهم ( یکشنبه ۳ آذر- ۲۳ نوامبر)  بازداشت بوده است. به گفته دو زندانی سیاسی دیگر آذربایجانی که به تازگی از بند ۲۰۹ زندان اوین آزاد شده اند عبدالله عباسی جوان به آنها گفته است که از روز ۲۳ آذر در اعتراض به بازداشت غیر قانونی و محرومیت از حقوق اولیه یک زندانی مجبورا" دست به اعتصاب غذا خواهد زد.

انجمن دفاع از زندانیان سیاسی آذربایجانی در ایران٬آداپ٬ بر این عقیده است که در ایران زندانی کردن و سرکوب فعالین مدنی آذربایجانی به صورت برنامه ریزی شده درجریان است.آداپ، مراتب نگرانی عميق خود را نسبت به ادامه اعتصاب غذا مهندس عبداله عباسی جوان که نشان دهنده شرايط نامناسب وی در زندان است اعلام می دارد و به جامعه جهاني متوسل ميشود که  از دولتمردان جمهوری اسلامی بخواهند تا شرايط حبس اين زندانيان را مطابق با عهدنامه های بين المللی ضمانت کنند، امکان دسترسی بدون قيد و شرط به وکيل، ملاقات با خانواده را برای اين فعالان فراهم نموده و از ادامه نگهداری بلاتکلیف آنها در بازداشتگاهها خودداری نمایند.

ADAPP'S APPEAL TO INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS TO SAFEGUARD HUMAN RIGHTS OF TWO AZERBAIJANI PRO-IDENTITY PRISONERS OF CONSICIENCE IN IRAN

Civil and cultural activists of the Azerbaijani population in Iran continually suffer from arbitrary detentions by security and judiciary authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. These activists only use peaceful ways in their demand for the eradication of discrimination or rebuild their national identity. During their detentions, they are usually tortured and are also denied of the right of access to a lawyer through the arbitrary charge of "undermining national security."

Both Mr. Abbasi Javan, architect by profession and a lecturer in the University of Shahid Rajai, and Mr. Huseyn Huseyni, the former president of Students Union in the University of Razi, Erdebil (Ardebil), were arrested in Rey on Thursday 14 November 2008. The arrest took place when they were participating in the anniversary of Settar Khan (national hero of Azerbaijan leading the constitutional movements in 1906-14) together with 8 other Azerbaijani activists but these two were transferred to Section 209 of Evin prison, which is ruled by Iran Intelligence Service.

All the efforts of the family members of these two prisoners of conscience have been in vain to establish their whereabouts. Instead, they were intimidated by security agents and were asked to stop referring to courts of justice. Since 14 November the only communication between the victims and their family members has been a less-than 1 minute telephone call by Abdulla Abbasi Javan to his brother on the 10^th day of the detention. According to the statement by two Azerbaijani prisoners of conscience recently released from Section 209 of Evin prison, Abdulla Abbasi Javan had informed them of entering to a hunger strike on his 23^rd day of detention (12 December 2008) as the last resort to protesting to the illegal detention and for being deprived of his basic human rights as a prisoner.

The ADAPP is confident that the detentions are arbitrary. The signs are clear that the internal channels for restoring the human rights of these two prisoners of conscience have been exhausted as judicial authorities are failing to respond to their family members; owing to strict disinformation, they were most probably tortured physically and psychologically during interrogations; and now the hunger strike by Mr. Abbasi.

The ADAPP (Association for the Defense of Azerbaijani Political Prisoners in Iran) appeals to human rights organizations, governmental organizations and conscientious individuals to rally support to the particular cases of Mr. Abdulla Abbasi Javan and his nephew Mr. Huseyn Huseyni, two prisoners of conscience: In your campaign, please ask the Iranian authorities to end this practice of indefinite detentions and immediately release these two detainees.
